I have a style that fluctuates between Contemporary and Classic. I love clean lines, sharp contrasts, and bright colors mixed with soft neutrals. My favorite stores to browse for inspiration are Pottery Barn, Pier One, Crate & Barrel, etc... My own house has a Contemporary style that combines casual comfort with a mix of natural textures and bright colors to add some spice. I always approach my clients' homes with an open mind. My goal is to create a style that works with the home's architecture, the clients' personal style, and my own vision for the space.
A great place to start is by choosing some basic color elements that will act as the backdrop for the more exciting design accents. I love to incorporate Faux Finishes whenever possible, I love the rich textures, metallic accents, and endless possibilities that a Faux Finish can bring to a space.
One of my favorite Faux Finishes is the Tahitian Black Pearl. Although this finish seems intimidating at first, our client's always end up loving the result! The Tahitian Black Pearl creates a dramatic, rich, and complex texture. The Metallic nature of the paint reflects light and really serves to keep the walls light and full of movement. I love to use it in Master Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Dining Rooms, Kitchens, and Family Room Accents as well. The finish has a hint of Old World Elegance yet it is at the same time clean and contemporary.
Custom Artwork is always fun to incorporate in my designs. I recently had our artist Jillianne Renee paint me two murals on my Master Bedroom Headboard Wall. They were inspired by 2 smaller pictures that just didn't fill the space. She replicated the prints with exacting detail and they look great with my decor. Sometimes you can save yourself a lot of time and money by having a Custom Mural painted. There's no better way to achieve what you envision with exactly the right dimensions; a Custom Designed Mural or even just Decorative Hand-Painted Accents can change a space dramatically.

We are proud to report that Sandy was selected for an upcoming episode on HGTV'S new series Rate My Space Makeovers! Her Martini Room featured here to the left was chosen out of thousands of rooms to be an inspiration for a Martini Room Makeover! Film crews came out and filmed the episode this past July.
